-
Serveringstemperatur: 16–18 °C.

Cascina Vèngore is situated in the heart of the province Terrie Alfieri, between the more well-known regions Roero and Monferrato, in the small wine region Cisterna d’Asti. The family Pavore has been viticulturists since 1837, and the farm Cascina Vèngore, situated in the heart of Terrie Alfieri and only 1-hour-drive from the coast, is the family’s latest project. The 26 hectares of land of Cascina Vèngore forms a natural amphitheater of meadows, woods and vineyards. The beautiful valley has its own micro climate with milder winters and cooler summers compared to the rest of the area, which is perfect for wine growing. This specific area has been renowned for producing high-quality wine since Roman times, and in the middle of the vineyards you still find the historic Roman farmhouse of Vèngore with the original 2000-year-old marble steps leading to the house as well as the ancient natural spring called Cucheirolo, which is still in use. When Mr. and Mrs. Povero bought the land in 2012, the vineyards had been long abandoned and the land poorly managed. During the last 10 years they have worked tirelessly to restore the vineyards as well as the surrounding woods. The have planted no less than 300 oak trees to restore the woods, wildlife and biodiversity of the area. The young, visionary and passionate daughter Lucrezia Povero has now taken over the leadership of the estate and together with her uncle and a small dedicated team, they take care of the vineyards, winery and sales. The 16 hectares of vineyards are planted with the local grape varieties Barbera, Nebbiolo and Arneis and they are all organically grown with the deepest respect for nature and biodiversity. The farm is also home to 15 hens and 8 donkeys, a crucial contribution to the natural ecosystem in the vineyard. The estate received organic certification in 2019.
